Mission Statement

The Puerto Rico Animal Welfare Society's mission is to reduce the numbers of homeless and abandoned companion animals in Puerto Rico by spaying and neutering as many pets as possible. Last year (2012), PAWS helped spay or neuter 2,250 dogs and 2,250 cats and gave 244 pets for adoption. At PAWS, we believe that all animals have the desire and the right to live long, healthy lives. This is why PAWS is a NO-KILL Organization. PAWS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

SPAYING AND NEUTERING your pets is one of the best ways to help combat the homeless pet problem and the needless killing of innocent animals whose only "crime" was to have been born. Learn about the problem and why it is so important to spay and neuter.
